How to use Public Transportation (the El)

to get to the

Sheraton, W Lakeshore and Westin River North

from Chicago Airports

1) Taking the El from O’Hare Airport to Sheraton Hotel and Towers

• Get on the Blue Line (toward either 54/Cermak or Forest Park) at O’Hare.
• Get off the train at Lake/Clark.
• Once you exit station you can either get a taxi to the hotel (which would be less than $10), or you can walk (about 10 mins).
• If you choose to walk, walk East on Lake St. until you hit Michigan Ave.
• Turn left on Michigan Ave so you are walking north. You’ll walk over the Chicago River.
• Soon after crossing the river you will see NBC towers on your right.
• Turn right and walk through the courtyard/walkway-like thing between the NBC towers.
• You’ll see the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in front of you.

ALTERNATIVE WALKING ROUTE: If you prefer streets, keep walking on Michigan (past the NBC towers) and make your next right on Illinois St. Then, make a right on Columbus. The hotel will be in front of you at that point.

2) Taking the El from O’Hare Airport to the W Lakeshore

• Follow directions 1-6 as if going to the Sheraton.
• Keep walking up Michigan past the NBC towers.
• Turn right on Ontario so you are walking east.
• The hotel will be about 5 blocks down at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Ontario.

3) Taking the El from O’Hare Airport to the Westin River North

• Get on the Blue Line (toward either 54/Cermak or Forest Park) at O’Hare.
• Get off the train at Lake/Clark.
• Walk north on Clark, over the river, and the hotel will be on your right after you cross the river.

4) Taking the El from Midway Airport to the Sheraton Hotel and Towers

• Take the Orange line from Midway (it only goes in one direction).
• Transfer to the Red Line (toward Howard) at Roosevelt.
• Get off the red line train at Grand
• Exit the station to the Southeast (you’ll see Rock Bottom across the street)
• At this point you can either take a cab (which will cost less than $10) or you can walk (which will take about 10-15 minutes)
• If you walk, walk East on Grand 5 blocks
• Turn Right on Columbus.
• The hotel will be on your left in about a block and a half.

5) Taking the El from Midway to W Lakeshore

• Follow directions 1-5 as if taking the El from Midway to Sheraton
• If you walk, walk East on Grand about 3 block to Michigan.
• Turn left on Michigan and walk two blocks
• Turn right on Ontario
• The hotel is about four blocks down.

6) Taking the El from Midway to Westin River North

• Follow directions 1-3 as if taking the El from Midway to Sheraton
• Exit the station to the South-West (you’ll be right in front of Rock Bottom)
• At this point you can either take a cab (which will cost less than $10) or you can walk (which will take about 8 minutes)
• If you walk, walk one block west on Grand to Dearborn
• Turn Left on Dearborn.
• You’ll hit the hotel just before the river.
